advised by both my boss and therapist, psychoanalyst i should say, right before 2011 started, i had already rethought and revised some attitudes that were no good for me and apparently, no good for people around me either.
it's time to look at the big picture and understand that between unacceptable and perfect there are many shades of grey. and that counts for everything. every day i am more and more a believer that life is what you make of it. and now, even more so, i get it and like it.
when you smile at life, life does not smile at you. it's true. but it's better than it sounds, if this is the 1st time you're hearing this. life does not smile at you because life just happens. life doesn't judge you. life doesn't act upon you. life nothing. we all live based on our perspective and expectations. more and more i find out that when i smile, i'm actually smiling for myself. so when i smile, i actively make my life easier. and when i smile (and i don't mean be fake and go on telling people that "oh, julie 2011 loooooves a traffic jam" or "ooh, i'm loving those extra pounds") but when i smile, i'm the one who's having a less of a hard time. i am better at measuring my expectations according to reality. i am learning to accept what's simply acceptable and you know what? it makes for a great life!
life happens. and i'm decided to take it more lightly.
