to continue on the last post, i'm still busying my mind with the artist: to be or not to be question. the more art shows i go to, the more i realize that discipline, some quirks and sometimes obsessive-compulsive disorder are necessary to become an artist. i'm not yet making a career choice, per se, but i'll let the quirks flow more freely.
i'm an avid stamp carver - a habit/skill that is old school romantic and slows me down achieving a beautiful and immediate gratification. still hooked on life gives u lemons line, the newest stamp is... ta dah: a lemon. join that with how i always wanted my own ex libris stamp for all the books i read and we have the beginnings of a quirk.
foreshadowing to a possible artwork, not only have i printed my ex libris on the first page, but i've dated when i started reading the current literature. i feel like this quasi-cataloguing is a journal in some form and could eventually be food for later artworks.
