feels great to be in brasil. this weekend was more than sunny, perfect temperature, and some peeps and i drove to the beach (especially great if you're in the mood for some traffic on the drive back sunday evening). either way, i was very happy at barra do sahy this weekend and more than anything else, in complete awe that this concoction of people got along so well. more than that, i'm glad i'm in brasil because only here can u make bonds with people u barely know so easily. in a 10 minute conversation, if u want of course, u can discuss beliefs and personal experiences that are so deep without feeling any discomfort at all.
also this weekend was a bit about kicking some fears' ass. i wouldn't say fear but i overcame some butterflies-in-stomach feelings. not bad at all.

to continue on the making-bonds issue, having lived in north america, europe and south america (in the last 10 yrs) i do feel i have some experience about each culture and that i can do what i usually hate, which is, to make stereotypes. funny but the 3 continents are very different when it comes to friends. obviously there are exceptions to every rule, but, without meaning any criticism or judgment whatsoever: in the united states, i believe it is fairly easy to make new acquaintances. people are very social and anything is a reason to party or hang out. in europe, or greece at least, the circles are a bit closed off but once you're in... oh buddy, you're in. people will bend over backwards for u and that will happen just because u know their cousin or something whom u met 25 yrs ago on a boat somewhere. if you're a friend's friend, then you're my friend too. and in brasil, most recent environment for me, i feel like the bonds go deep very fast. brasil is an intense place in so many factors. from colors to temperatures to tempers to women's PMS. just kidding...
i was gonna say relationships. u barely know someone but everyone's so comfortable around each other... i wonder how much this is my perspective vs. a bottomline truth-ish for everyone who's been here...
either way, this weekend was even better than expected, what a way to start a week... la di da... i'm happy.
