i've been thinking about the commerce of umbrellas. it's been raining hard and all day here in brazil. i think one of the biggest characteristics in brazilian culture and its people is how street smart we are. today all day then, they sell umbrellas at the street lights. that got me thinking (and writing while driving) will the market for umbrellas ever end? if not, how come? every time it rains, in the worst and most selfish scenario, it's one umbrella per person. so we should already own all the umbrellas we need. do we loose them like socks in the dryer? every time it rains, do we really need to acquire a new one? and to make this post even more trivial, do u even know where your umbrellas are?
