good morning. went to a live jazz bar last night. nice. (actually, two of them) very inspiring and full-of-content conversations. we were thinking about destiny. if there is one, i don't know, but i know u can always choose your attitude. meaning: my motto for life "when life gives u lemons, make lemonade." u can't choose exactly how your life will be, but u can choose how u live it. (i'm not sure how i feel about destiny x free will but i know it's a very rhetorical issue where u can talk all u want and there'll never be a definite answer)
we went on to discuss our futures and how we want to build our careers. i don't really fret and/or think about my future too much. maybe i accept that lives are fragile and there is an amount that u can't control. getting a job or not, does not only depend on your curriculum. but then, listening to my co-thinkers, it made me wonder: am i being lazy or empty by not thinking/planning my future career? i feel like maybe i'm not actively putting content into my life and future choices and decisions. hm.. as always, one step further, after what i went through, do i accept things too easily and just bother going with the flow? i accept things and people more easily than the people at the table. or maybe that's just a forgiving non-judgmental personality trait. and it's good that the people next to me are more avid thinkers; more definite about their thoughts and opinions. one of them is a well formulated art critic/curator so it's more than necessary for her life. but again, there i go with my passiveness (is that the right word for this?): i accept that we're different, despite wishing i was a bit more concerned with my life's choices and paths, because we need both in this world. we are, indeed, all little specks of a bigger whole. (am i really ok with that?)
