well, hello hello from prague! thank u for those supporters who r still reading this and thank u for a very good/easy access to internet from miss sophie's hostel.
prague is... let's see. COLD. my butt is officially frozen and i'm not loving it. i have been walking like my life depended on it though, and i'm definitely tired but liking that part. prague is a lot bigger than i expected (what did i expect?) so there's quite a lot to see. i do feel like i end up in the same street over and over though... hm...
oh, thank you nora for the very good "time out" guidebook. it has the best supposedly local places to visit. went to this "cafe medusa" that was in a very residential dark part of town (it's getting dark at 4pm tops here) and they had really good coffee, very cute waiter. also went to "globe bookstore and cafe" last night which was the perfect sum of good jazz + lively crowd + coffee. usually, you only get this scene at a bar, so this was a 1st. nice.
also been going to every museum possible. museum of decorative arts (very jackie like, for those who know her), cubism museum, national gallery... some art galleries with the entrance from the back of a street garage. i was not welcome. but i still went in. i've also been writing names down of some contemporary czech artists that i like. i'll post them here when i have my notebook with me.
other than that and the belgian chocolate though, this is a slow vacation. i find it's two different things: touring x vacationing. i have to remind myself that i'm not here to tour like a madman (madwoman?) and get my legs sore from walking in bad shoes. i'm vacationing. so i'm trying to take it slow and spend a long time in the same city and read my book and wake up late... everyone here seems shocked. (backpackers don't give the city more than 2 days) oh well...
so greetings from freezing prague, missing the warmth but enjoying the lattes, teas and mulled wine!!

(next post i'll fill you guys in on the people of prague. again, not what i expected... why do i even bother making expectations?)
