still thinking about the instigating thoughts provoked by a fellow artist (a bit cocky of me to use the word "fellow" maybe?), i am triggered already and started to get some real artwork done. what defines real artwork to me? let's not get into that today.
the photos above are a bit of a preview of my urban intervention, as i like to think of it. i've written 3 wishes down on these beautiful, yet simple, napkins. i have already written 100 of them and the 100% is starting to feel a bit of a signature to me, like a tag for graffiti artists. the red stamp "01" corresponds to the 1st wish. i have napkins with "02" on them and "03" so far. i don't know how many i plan on making but i feel like they'll become collectibles, in a way. plus, don't we all have wishes to spare?
i also abide by a few rules per se so that despite there being various wishes and tons of napkins eventually, they are all one single artwork.
1 - they have to be positive wishes.
2 - they have to be about either the present or the future.
3 - they have to be romance related.
i'm so happy about this! i've showed it to some people, they seem to like and want them. as always, i maintain my thought process of whatever's personal is universal therefore people will identify with my wishes and therefore like it. initially i wanted to just randomly distribute them wherever other napkins are found. i'm afraid they might be picked up and thrown in the garbage by someone that didn't read it or didn't see the meaning of it. that is the risk with artwork, i know. but still... how do i distribute these? what would i want to achieve with them? (they're beautiful and somehow it feels good that other people know my wishes even if this is a bit of an anonymous project) and of course, julie, the overthinker: why am i making them and why do we make any artwork at all?
would u, whoever's reading this, want one of them? (i love the post office...)
