ON VOTING: yay for voting. doing my duty for the 1st time while in brasil. i don't mean to be pessimistic, but sometimes i feel that no matter who u vote for, things don't change much. still, as an upstanding citizen, i voted. actually, now that i think about it, it does matter. with the united states in mind, sometimes, depending on who u vote for, u get a war. *oopsON SLOWING DOWN: found great ways, and acted upon them, to slow down life that i strongly recommend: mud bath, facial, hair treatments, reading, dimming lights in living room, watercoloring, drawing, knitting, bookbinding, allowing yourself to eat french fries for lunch for a change, cooking, looking for the perfect produce to cook ur food with, and one day, maybe, aspiring to living in a slow city. love the concept...
and last but not least, very very very happy with the reaction i caught yesterday from someone who noticed and was surprised by one of my napkins. i hid #14 (i hope, for my own good, that he stops calling) under another napkin at a fancy ritzy place. the girl found it and showed it to her, very handsome if i may say so, boyfriend. he was very inquisitive about it searching thru other tables to see if they had one too, asking the waitress... looking around. it was extremely fun, sneaky i-did-something-no-one-can-know-about feeling. fun!! he kept at it for a while, thought about it, re-read it, inspected it from up close, unfolded and folded the napkin... what a great reaction.
i was very tempted to tell him what it was about and confess that i'm the artist doing the urban intervention etc but... no. i held my suspense. very gratifying. he put it away next to his cell phone and wallet, i take it, precious items. hee hee.
