sorry for stating the obvious but my conclusion after experiencing yesterday and today is that reality really is what u make of it. i'm glad to say that i was aware of that yesterday and managed to change things around. for some reason, things were not working out in the morning. u know those days when the computer gives u the blue screen of death for no reason? when the car passing u by (u: pedestrian) it splashes u with the puddle of the oh-so-lovely-yesterday's-rain? when the coffee machine at work is not willing to cooperate? i mean... i know these are little things that don't really matter in the general scheme, but yes, it can put u in a bad mood. or at least, it can put me in a bad mood if it all happens at once like yesterday. it was one of those "i shouldn't have gotten out of the house" days. well, the solution was to focus on work and do absolutely nothing else. to say the least, by the end of the day, i'd feel productive. so that was a good resolution and it did work until i had to go to physical therapy and face traffic in são paulo at 5pm. oh dear... anyways, i did what i had to do and the plan was to go home and watch one of my favorites sappy movies: love actually with keira knightley, liam neeson, colin firth, rodrigo santoro... not a bad resolution at all! and from the momentum of a better resolution of april 08th, april 09th, aka today, started out pretty well. the sun is out, i walked to work, i'm wearing a colorful skirt, the music on the ipod was a great selection as a soundtrack to my walk... how much of reality is what our perception tells us? when we see grey skies, can we go either way and think: "great for a movie!" as much as "oh crap, it'll rain today and my shoes will be ruined." why don't we, then, always go for the positive outlook?
