good morning and as always, thank u for the comments. it always gets me thinking for another step deeper into the issues. as far as respecting craft, i also agree with that but for some reason, i do believe there is a distinction between art and craft. i'm not sure yet what i believe it is. it's extrememly blurry in my opinion.
u know, i keep thinking about what defines art and what defines craft and it takes me back to my beliefs in similar issues. this is risky to write on a blog but i'll try to put it as superficially as i can just to explain my point.
it is not uncommon knowledge that when something bothers u about someone else, it is most likely because u have that same trait as well. agreed? again, i'm going for the whole specific equals universal thing... haha... well, if it bothers me, for example, that someone is self centered... sad but true, i probably am just as much. start noticing, if u haven't yet. (respective others and families are now all thanking me for that advice there)
next step, let's do that to countries, shall we? (and of course: disclaimer - i'm not saying this to explain all politics in the world right now and why there are wars etc... please...) but, stay with me for a second, there is a as-if-we-were-back-in-the-6th-grade battle between argentina and brasil. they talk negatively about us, brazilians, and yes, we do the same. we all say (i use generalization here for arguments sake) that we don't like each other. hm.. i wonder why... i believe that argentina and brasil are similar to a big extent and that is, partially, why we bother one another. (now that i think about it, maybe that's why my brother and i get along so well. we are similar in our core, thankfully, but yet, so different in so many ways. we get along because whatever he does is not something i would do, probably, so i'm distant, in a good sense, and therefore it's really easy to be happy for him. hm... food for thought. no wonder he loved my super-fake-orange color hair back in college)
to go back on our problem and this is the last thing i'll say on this for now, artists and craftsmen, aren't we all the same, really, with very minor differences? what is really the difference? (and why do we struggle so much to find out?)
