everyone always told me to start a blog.
it feels funny to write and not know who ur writing to...
i guess it'd be fun to have a blog so i can ramble on about thoughts that come into my head and sorta lead nowhere. i sometimes wonder what's the point. also, these thoughts r not yet fully formed. i think about it in bits.
{i always say "rough draft of a thought"}
for example, i went up to my boss yesterday and we were talking about how art is or isn't important. he was telling me that after the concentration camps were "ended," when people got to go home, a lot of little notes were found stuck in the walls, in between bricks, with letters and poems and thoughts on them. he was pondering over what courage it took these people, in the middle of concetration camp hell, to scrape a pencil and paper. to risk ur life for something like that, for expressing urself, for art, in a way... also, what was the need they were fulfilling? hm... is art a basic need then?
i keep saying that because i'm living in brasil right now, i haven't been creating my own art, like i used to. i feel like my art, like any other, in a way, was very autobiographic. i was thinking how, being in a 3rd world country where even illiteracy rate is high, i feel like it's pointless to make art about my "issues." i really am lucky and have no issues here. there are more serious things to think about, in a way. so my art has come to a halt. i'd rather be helping other people.
enough of writing tho. this is probably already too much for a blog on the internet where people's attention span is 2 seconds and a click away...
